About

Grow Athletes was born after years of answering questions from parents, coaches, and athletes. They all shared a common experience of being told what was necessary for athletic growth but lacked the ability to distinguish between credible and unreliable sources. We strive to demystify youth sports and share information that is largely inaccessible in order to better inform decision-making and athletic development.

Why a Bison?

Embrace your inner bison and run toward the storm

The American Bison is a symbol of strength, resilience, determination, and so many other strong qualities young athletes can emulate in their journey through sports.

Red Dogs

Similar to young athletes, the Red Dog is a bison calf that bares little resemblance to the adult it will become. Young athletes are often exposed to the same training models as adults, including volume of training, pressure to specialize, excessive focus on performance outcomes instead of development, and other practices unhealthy for the growing child.

As the Bison is a symbol for the traits every athlete can acquire through their sports journey, the Red Dog is a reminder that the developing athlete is not yet an adult and has different needs surrounding their sports involvement.
